Ensayo And Celeste: Chapter 4

Chapter 4

“Well, Helda Honey, you know with our little adventure on Celeste that our vacation turned into, you and I may be the only two people in the galaxy, even in the Universe, that know that the Universe is a complex computer-like structure whose inner workings are the programs in a simulation being run by some kind of higher beings outside our Universe, who made it, who made us, as subroutines in the programs, albeit components of those routines that are our actions. I find consolation that we as these components have a free-will. They seem to need that of us, so that they can make decisions for themselves based on the outcomes of these actions of ours.”

“It gives me an idea. We want to develop an engine that will take us beyond our galaxy to other galaxies. Why don’t we try to make a computer that solves things for us by doing the same thing, giving it a free will. If it has that, I suppose you could say the computer is alive, making decisions for itself, it would essentially mean that it is no longer a machine, but a conscious entity.”

“But how do you give a computer a free will, we don’t even understand how it is that we, biological life has one?”

“My guess is it can be done by leaving our Universe for a parallel Universe where the laws of physics are reversed. And how do we do that? By traveling faster that the speed of light. But the theoreticians say we can’t do that, that the speed of light is the cosmic speed limit. But I don’t think it is. They say it because since space, time, and mass dilate when with higher and higher velocities and that at the speed of light time becomes zero, space contracts to zero, and mass increases to infinity. Since you need an infinite amount of energy we see this is in the equation for dilation. The equation for the increased mass M’ with velocity v of a mass with rest mass M is given by

M’=M/sqrt(1-(v^2)/(c^2))

“M prime equals rest mass M divided by the square root of one minus velocity squared over the speed of light squared. If we are traveling at the speed of light then our velocity v equals the speed of light c, and we have”

M’=M/sqrt(1-(c^2)/(c^2))

“c squared over c squared is 1 and 1-1 is zero so we have M’ equals M over zero. Since zero never stops dividing into the M, because it can never reduce it, being nothing, then it divides into it without end. In other words M prime goes to infinity.”

“However there are those who say this is an erroneous line of reasoning. It assumes that to go faster than the speed of light you must first travel the speed of light. But if you can somehow travel faster that the speed of light without first passing through the speed of light, this can be done. But the only thing is that when you are going faster than the speed of light you enter a parallel universe where the laws of physics are reversed. That is, you enter a universe where the less energy you add to a moving platform the faster it goes, and the more energy you add to it the slower it goes, the reverse of what happens here. That is, we say the particles of which we are composed in such a universe, called tachyons, have reversed properties of those of which we are composed of here called tardyons. How do we see this? By traveling faster than the speed of light, say twice it, 2c then we have

M’=M/sqrt((1-(2c)^2))/(c^2))

“Where ((2c)^2)/c^2=2 that is, two c squared over c squared is 2 and the equation becomes

M’=M/sqrt(1-2). M prime is M divided the square root of 1 minus 2 is negative one. That is

M’=M/sqrt(-1)

Since you can’t take the square root of a negative number because no two same numbers multiply to make it because one times one is one and negative one times negative one is positive one, all we can do is call the square root of negative one the imaginary unit i. We say

i=sqrt(-1)

“So how do we know i indicates the reversal of the laws of physics when we don’t know what i is? We know because operations on i can have real values. Since the square root of a number is the number when multiplied by itself make the value in the square root sign, the radicand, then clearly for instance the i squared is the square of the square root of negative one is clearly negative one because square root negative one times square root negative one is the number inside the radicand, the negative one. But what does this imply for M prime? It implies that it is negative mass, of which there is no such a thing in our universe: it is a form of matter made of tachyons.”

“But this actually suits our purposes. My idea is that if we can have computer circuits that are running tachyons through them as an electrical current, as opposed to the tardyons we run through them today as an electrical current, that we will produce a computer that has free will, or is alive in other words.”

“But how can we have tachyons in our universe for our computers that are running tardyons? I have an idea there, too. I believe we have tachyons in our galaxy, more precisely on the planet Ensayo. There are teachers on this spiritual planet who can go months without eating, or drinking water, who can bring themselves down to such a relaxed state through meditation that they can move without even exerting energy. And what is that?….It is a tachyon. Perhaps we need to go to that planet to find a way that we can make computers that are alive, that have a free will, and thereby can solve something for us, like we do for whatever these beings are outside our Universe that made us.”

Helda smiled and said “Now that you are on the Kalest Committee To Develop Intergalactic Travel, throw the idea by them. If you want to go to the planet Ensayo, I would be happy to tag along.”
