Celeste Chapter 6

Chapter 6

It was a grueling past couple of days for Larry and Helda, and neither had a hard time falling asleep; they both slept good and deep.

“Get dressed honey, we are going out today.”

They both, after finishing eating a breakfast, pre-dispensed for that morning by the cybercooker device in the kitchen, took care of those things one needs to take care of when getting the day started.

“Well honey, we can go now. But before we walk out that door, I can tell you I have received a brief glimpse of the future from that device the man gave me, unlocked to my psychic frequency. There is a man standing outside our door planning a right cross to my face. Stay there.”

He walked to the door, took a deep breath, paused, then threw open the door. In came a right cross to his face. He parried it to the left with his left, then followed with a punch with his right straight to his face. The attacker stood stunned, then Larry took the electromagnetic stunner from his pocket, pointed it and pressed the button. The man fell to the floor unconscious.”

“Okay, honey c’mon.”

She looked at the man laying on the ground “We can’t just leave him laying there like that.”

Larry said, “Let’s go, in a couple minutes he will be up, and fine. That psychic device does a little more than we were told. I can tell you right now there are three taxis in front of the hotel, the third one is free.”

They hurried down the stairs, exited the hotel, and from the third taxi in front of the hotel came a man: “My taxi is free, where can I take you?”

Larry answered “To the Celeste National Galactic Library.” They both got in the back of the taxi while the driver got in the front at its command seat.

They arrived at the library, paid the driver, and entered. They went straight to the desk.

“Yes, how may I help you two?”

“I am Professor Larry Keysmann from the planet Kalest, and this is my wife Helda. We are here doing research.”

The man behind the desk said: “All I really need to see, then, is your University Identification, though there are many other kinds of cards that will work.”

Larry reached for his back pocket and pulled out his wallet. He took from it a card with a magnetic strip on the back and handed it to him. The man swiped it in an electronic reader, and looked up to the console in front of him and looked over what came up on the screen.

“Yes, yes, this will do fine. The consoles are over there straight behind you. I think you will find what you need: If we don’t have access to it, you probably don’t need it.”

Larry and Helda looked behind them then turned back to the man behind the desk “Thank you, sir.” and they headed over to the consoles. Larry sat at a chair in front of one and Helda pulled a chair up from the console next to her, and sat next to Larry, both of them looking at the console. Helda said “What are we looking for?”

Larry answered “Some sort of a clue as to where we can find that aspect of the universe, in this Galaxy, where there could exist the program for its directive. What ever it is, it must be somewhere we can’t access, like the giant black-hole at the center of the galaxy. Here it is…There was research done in a secret program by a scientist who suggested that at the center of the galaxy is an AI running the projections of our reality by a circulating electromagnetic field, that comes from energy being drawn in to its center through a black-hole at one end and out the white hole at its other end…I know what to do. Let’s get back to the hotel.”
